Paper Plate Pilgrim Craft (Learn & Link With Linky)

Getting closer and closer to Thanksgiving. My kids and I made Thanksgiving paper plate crafts – Mayflower and a Pilgrim.

The 1st craft we made were paper plate Pilgrims.  My boys made boy Pilgrims, my daughter  made a girl Pilgrim and I made another girl Pilgrim for my 7 month baby.  Guess you could say they are Pilgrim kids!

Materials needed:

Paper Plates

Markers

Glue (not a glue stick) & Scissors

Construction Paper or Cardstock

I found this craft on Pinterest but there was no template or anything so I started off my cutting out the bow at the bottom of the plate, cutting slits and then working my way around the plate for the rest of the head. Then I had my kids design their own faces  on their Pilgrims.

paper plate pilgrim how to

For girls: I used cardstock, cut them into rectangles ad then cut slits to look like strands of hair then glued underneath the bonnet.

For boys: I used black construction paper and drew out a hat and then yellow construction paper to cut out the buckle and glued to the top of the Pilgrim’s head.

I made one for my 7 month baby so that I could hang one up for her with her siblings Pilgrims.

As you can see my 2-year-old needed help – he has an abstract face you can say!

Stay tuned for our Mayflower paper plate craft.
