My husband and I are little by little cutting out processed foods, making things from scratch. One of those things is pasta sauce.
Here is a super easy delicious recipe to make pasta sauce:
Ingredients:
6 Ripe Medium Tomato’s
1 Carrot (halved)
1 Clove of Garlic (peeled)
1/2 Teaspoon of Basil
1/2 Teaspoon of Oregano or Pizza Seasoning
1/2 Teaspoon of Sugar
1/4 Teaspoon of Salt
2 Tablespoon of Tomato Paste
1 Small Onion peeled (halved)
Squeeze of lemon
Squeeze of lemon
I used my Vitamix to make this recipe but you can use a regular blender.
Toss all your ingredients in the Vitamix or blender. If using a Vitamix select on variable 1 and then increase quickly to 10 on high. Blend for 5 minutes so that all the ingredients are fully blended plus if you are using a Vitamix you will not need to heat up the sauce because of the blade speed will leave the sauce hot when you are done. If you are using a regular blender blend until all ingredients are fully blended and then pour them into a sauce pan and heat.
I do not think I will buy jar sauce again after making this. You can definitely taste the difference in the freshness! Plus their are ingredients in it that I can actually pronounce!I had enough to freeze for our next meal too!
This was a variation of Vitamix’s recipe, I changed it up a bit.
