EASTER ~ SALT DOUGH RESURRECTION TOMB

Yesterday my kids and I made salt dough for the 1st time. What a blast — we made The empty Resurrection Tomb of Jesus with our salt dough.

Ingredients:
Flour (2 1/2 cups)
Salt (1 cups)
Water (1 cup)
I had to keep adding flour to the recipe to get the doughy consistency. The recipe originally called for 2 cups of flour.
I had my kids mix all the ingredients together, taking turns.

I left in a ball for about an hour to stiff in up before we started building
My 4 year old and 2 year old rolled balls for the rocks around the tomb and my 6 year old and I worked on the tomb
I used a wad of paper towels inside the tomb so that it wouldn’t collapse and then once it dried I pulled the paper towels out of the inside of the tomb.

I used toothpicks for the crosses.
What alot of run to incorporate as a visual for children as they learn about the death and resurrection of Christ! Thank you to one of my favorite homeschool blogs Almost Unschoolers for sharing her post on her resurrection tomb, it inspired me to do our own using our twist!
