My son has been using the Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read program for reading. We have been taking our time, so he is able to obtain the words & he has done a great job. So before we move to the “o” words I gave him a spelling tests each day of ALL the words he can read. I wanted to make it fun for him since we have done the reading review for these words in our lesson book. So forย 3 days he did the spelling tests. I had him do it different each time. I read the words to him & he wrote it down.
DAY 1
The 1st day he wrote his spelling words on his manuscript tablet
DAY 2
Then he used his Fisher Price Doodle Pro (he wasn’t too happy about using this one because when he wrote the word down incorrectly some of the words he would have to re-write because when you slide the eraser it erased some of the other words he wrote correctly)
DAY 3
The last day he did his spelling test on his Aquadoodle Matt
Doing spelling tests different ways each time will become part of our normal homeschooling, I like to make it fun but educational! I have some other fun ways up my sleeve – stay tunned!
Our kids love using the whiteboard too for spelling. ๐ For some reason they prefer that to a piece of paper, so we just take a picture when they are done {grins}.
How fun! I think that is great that you let him you all these different ways to take his tests!
Have a wonderful weekend!

We also like to use magnetic letter tiles or the white board for spelling words. ๐
