A fun way to read & spell

Using materials I already have……..
My preschooler has learned his ag, at, an, ad & ap words in his Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read program so I am looking for different ways to review those words with him before we move onto the ig words in another week. So today we tried something new. I set aside the blocks: A, T, P, G, D, N (that would make up the last 2 letters of the words he has learned) then I set various other letters in a pile & had him for the most part put together the words he has learned. So for instance I put the AT blocks together then from the other pile he would make up words he knows (cat, hat, mat, etc.)
