TODAY IS NOT TOO LATE

The definition of cancer in the dictionary is: A disease in which certain cells grow out of control and spread to other parts of the body.
My definition is: PAIN, SORROW, NASTY, WICKED
This week has been a hard week for me. I had to say goodbye for now to a sweet sister in Christ who passed away to melanoma cancer. She fought it for 7 months and the Lord called her home. I met this sweet amazing woman a few years ago in a homeschool group I belonged to. And as the years went on we were in the same Bible study group and another homeschooling group together.
This women wasn’t just anyone, she was a mom, wife, daughter, friend and sister in Christ. She lite up the room when she walked in with her beautiful smile. She encouraged me with my walk with the Lord. Her faith was incredible even till the very end when she lead a nurse in the hospital to the Lord. See she didn’t throw herself a pitty party like I probably would have. What she wanted most was to glorify the Lord.
As I looked in her husbands and each of her 4 children (ages 10 and under) eyes Wednesday at her memorial service I saw peace. They knew that she was used by God. I love what her husband said, ” cancer didn’t kill my wife.” Cancer can’t live once the body dies, she is still alive but with Christ.
I will miss her deeply. I look back on her conversations and I will cherish them for the rest of my life. Her legacy will live on in my heart and all those who she impacted.
Her family has a wonderful support system of family and friends that will be there for them. I praise God, out of all 4 of her children the baby looks exactly like her. I believe God will do something amazing with this baby. He will know his mom by the legacy that she made. .
Her husband’s faith is as amazing as hers was. He has a bumpy road ahead of him but with prayer and the Lord’s guidance he will make it through.
Her passing has made me stop an evaluate myself. I know my friend would have wanted to spend the weeks upon her passing with her children instead of a treatment center. I have these 4 beautiful blessings God has given me that I get to spend everyday with. As a mom like my friend I want to take it all in, never miss an opportunity to hug my kids, tell them that I love them. Put all un-important things to the side for them. See she can’t come back and hug her kids or tell them that she loves them but I am here now and I can. Please moms don’t let a day that goes by and not hug or kiss your kids and tell that you love them. My oldest is 7 years old, I remember when he was born, years fly by. Soak it all in, enjoy your kids. I know my friend is with Jesus. To see our King face to face must be amazing and marvelous. I look forward to seeing her again someday but for now I look at what happened to my sweet friend and think what can I do differently to glorify my King? I am so thankful that her husband allowed her to homeschool or else I would have never met this precious woman.
Then my step sister was diagnosed with breast cancer. Within the next few weeks she will be having a mastectomy. My step sister is not only a mom and wife but she is a caregiver to her son who is paralyzed after a recent diving accident in the spring.
I have friends who have had this same diagnosis and have had the same surgery as my step sister and have been in remission for many years. I pray this will be the same as my step sister.
Her life is about to change, feeling helpless all we can do is pray for her. That God uses this to draw Himself to her.
I know God uses everything for the good of His glory.

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good B)’> according to his purpose.
This is where faith comes in. Personally I am having a hard time with all this  myself. I know God is in control and need to lean on Him and pray for my step sister and for my friends loved ones. Only He can guide them through and only He can give a peace that surpasses all understanding.
Why am I telling you all this? Because you never know what’s going to happen from one day to the next. To have what my friend has, a Savior that she is now with face to face. I am so glad I made that decision years ago. It’s not to late for those that do not have that. How can you have that?
1. Admit you are a a sinner (Romans 3:10)
2. Willing to turn from their sin. This is what the word repent means.(Acts 17:30)
3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, that He was buried and rose again from the dead to pay the price for their sins. (Romans 10:9-10)
4. Pray and invite Jesus into their hearts as their Lord and Saviour.(Romans 10:13)
Salvation Prayer (Say out loud this prayer for salvation)
Father, I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness. I ask you to forgive me of all my sins in Jesus name. I repent and turn from sinning and doing wrong, right now. I believe that Jesus died and rose again for my sin and I accept His payment. Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart, right now, and be my Lord and Saviour. Fill me with the Holy Spirit. I thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayer and coming into my heart and saving me according to Your word. I love You Lord, and I ask You to seal me in the blood of Jesus and help me to live for You all the days of my life.
In Jesus name Amen.

I recently saw this on a the street corner – so true!

It’s never too late to receive Christ, it’s never too late to hug a friend, a family member or tell someone that you love them. It’s never too late to share Christ with someone else. It’s a choice.
