Chocolate Cookie Candy Ice Cream Pie

Yum

I love to cook but sometimes my crazy schedule does not allow me to do all recipes homemade. With six kids, homeschooling and taking care of other household responsibilities I have to take short cuts.  Depending on what the short cut is that is not a bad thing, right?

Who does not like a special refreshing treat during the summer?  It is so hot here in Florida that you practically get drenched in sweat just walking from your car to inside your home. So I decided to make my family ice cream pie.  I have to tell you this recipe is so simple.  I am sure one of my younger kids could have made it by themselves, which I think I will have them do next time.

Ingredients:

Cookies and cream ice cream

Any kind of toppings (we used smashed up M & M’s)

Graham cracker pie crust

How to make:

First let the ice cream sit out for a few moments prior to preparation. Once the ice cream is a bit soft  use a spatula and fill add it to the pie crust.  Since we used M & M’s as the topping we decided to smash them up and sprinkle them on top of the ice cream pie and then place it in the freezer until it firms up a bit.

Tip: You can smash the M & M’s up by simply placing them in a plastic bag and use a meat tenderizer or another hard kitchen gadget to bang on the bag which will smash them in smaller pieces.
