Explore Inside and Outside at The Children’s Science Explorium & Sugar Sands Park

Sometimes as a homeschooler our schedule can be a bit more flexible.  Maybe wake up in the morning and decide to go on an unplanned field trip with friends and leave our homeschool for in the afternoon.  Although I consider going to a museum part of homeschooling.  Here in South Florida we have a several of museum and parks. One that a friend recently introduced us to is the Children’s Science Explorium

The Children's Science Explorium

This beautiful little museum offers hands-on science center designed for children 5 – 12 years of age and their caregivers.  It is filled with fascinating and interactive exhibits, programs that bring the physical sciences to life.  In addition to their permanent exhibit collection, the Explorium offers its visitors a variety of traveling exhibits each year. From rockets to molecules, the museum engages and teaches children about the fantastic world of science!

The Children's Science Explorium

Every year, once in the fall and once in the spring, the Children’s Science Explorium brings in two brand new traveling exhibits to entertain kids and parents alike. These wonderful exhibits stay with the Explorium for about four months before they leave on their way around the country once more.

Since The Children’s Science Explorium is located in the Sugar Sands Park when kids are done learning inside they can get some fresh air and play on the huge playground (NOTE: it is currently closed due to renovations) .  Plus for a small fee kids can take a ride on the carousel.

What I love most about the Explorium and park is that there is so much to do for kids. Admission to the Children’s Science Explorium is free of charge although a suggested donation of $5.00 per person is appreciated. The cost to ride the Sugar Sand Park Carousel is $1.00 per person.

Have  you ever visited Boca Raton, Florida? If not I highly suggest visiting The Children’s Science Explorium and Sugar Sands Park!
