Popcorn Kernel Thanksgiving Candle (Kids Craft)

With our recent move and having a baby things are so crazy which, means unfortunately I have not had much time to make Thanksgiving crafts with my children like we normally do every year. So I was happy when my oldest son came home with a craft he made with his Bible study class last week.  They are so simple to make and I think next Thanksgiving my family will make them as small gifts for our family members.

Materials:

Tea Candle

4 OZ Mason Jar With Lid (minus the flat part of the lid)

1/2 Cup Popcorn Kernels

Decorative Leaf

Approx. 4″ Ribbon

Approx. 2″ of Lace Trim

Glue

First cut the ribbon and lace trim to size. Next add the popcorn kernel into the mason jar.  Then glue the lace trim onto the top portion of the lid and allow it to dry for a few hours. Finally tie the the ribbon around the neck of the jar, insert the leaf decoration in the knot of the bow of the ribbon and place the tea candle in the middle of the popcorn kernels.

I have not lite the candle yet but I wonder if popcorn will shoot out of the top when the candle and jar are warm! What do you think?
