Chick-Fil-A is my favorite place to eat. My husband and I take the kids a few times a month for dinner. We eat our meal and then the kids play in the indoor play area. One of my favorite meals are their salads. They are filled with fresh greens, tomatoes and other amazing toppings plus they have so many different salad choices!
I have been on the Chick-Fil-A Mom Panel for a few years. Our panels was recently asked us to take a challange. After enjoying their amazing salads what can we turn the Chick-Fil-A salad container into? I decided to turn this durable container into a hanging planter.
Materials:
Chick-Fil-A salad container
2 Pieces of yarn (cut into approximately 24 inches each)
Sharp object such as a knife or a screwdriver
Potting soil
small plant
First clean out the container really well so that any food residue does not attract ants. Than with your sharp object (knife or screwdriver) poke a hole in each of the top four corners of the container. Place a small amount of potting soil in the container and then your plant. Make sure you use a small plant because the container is swallow. Break up the roots a bit and then place more potting soil around the plant. Next thread one piece of the yarn through one of the holes and then diagonally thread it through underneath the container to the hole across from it, then thread the second piece do the same. Bring both pieces of the yarn up so that there are four pieces gathered together and then tie a double knot.
My five and three year old kids enjoyed helping me with this gardening project. How would you upcycle a Chic-Fil-A salad container? The uses are endless!

What a cute idea! My family loves Chick Fil A too. My hubby is always saving containers but I have to admit, I never thought about making something like this with them. I love it!
How fun to be on the Chik-fil-A panel! My MIL would save containers like this all the time and would reuse them to send leftover party meals home with people.

WOW! This container is really big. It makes a very nice hanging container to put plants in. I really like what you did. This inspires me to use containers that I have.
I never would have thought to find a new use for the container but we love growing plants on the patio. might have to give this a shot!
