From the back of the van on the way home from an outing my six year old daughter informed me that she was going to be sick. My initial reaction was uh oh what kind of sick her response was throw up sick mama.  Great I thought, hurry and get home! See this is not the first time one of my five kids has thrown up in my van with very little notice and the outcome was a mother’s worst nightmare!

At home I made her lay down.  She said she was thirsty so I gave her Pedialyte to drink then and rubbed peppermint oil on her stomach. Thankfully with rest my daughter was back to herself quickly!

Pedialyte Walmart

I was first introduced to Pedialyte when my first child was born ten years ago. Ever since then it was been a  staple in our family during flu season. Pedialyte helps restore the body’s potassium, sodium and chloride minerals, also known as electrolytes without all the sugar all while keeping the body hydrated.

Other beverages on the market such as sports drinks, juice, and soda do not meet the medical guidelines for helping to prevent dehydration due to diarrhea and vomiting.  These types of drinks are high in sugar and low in sodium, which is an important electrolyte lost due to diarrhea and vomiting.

Pedialyte is available in fun flavors for children and adults and in different forms and sizes to suit their needs. Plus it is offered in liquid, powder packs and freezer pops which makes it it easy to re-hydrate at home or on the go! Stock up right now and save $2 off any (2) one liters purchase.

Comments

  1. A few of my friends stand by Pedialyte. they love it and the benefits that come with using it.

  2. Since it’s impossible to predict when the kids will catch a bug and get sick, it’s definitely important to keep some items stocked all the time! This is a great reminder to make sure we are prepared for the kids sicknesses!

  3. This really is a must have, especially for us here in Maine where we seem to spend 6 months in winter weather! Plus being around other kids at school and all the germs. Ah! Did you know that we even give Pedialyte to our newly hatched chicks for the first 4 days. Yup!

    • That’s how I felt in Michigan too, like winter would never end. You definitely wanted to have Pedialyte on hand.

  4. It’s so important to stay hydrated when one has the flu or is just sick in general. I actually used Pedialyte to stay hydrated when I had food poisoning a few months ago.

  5. With 4 kids we have used our share of Pedialyte! My mind is blown that they have powdered now! Love the convenience of that!

  6. I swear by this product. It really does work. Pedialyte saves me when my son gets LBM.

  7. No family medicine cabinet should be wthout Pedialyte. It is critical during illness for kids and adults to stay well hydrated. Good post!

  8. Pedialyte is like a magical potion. And its not just for children anymore.

  9. We are always stocked up on Pedialyte! I truly believe in this!

  10. We have relied in pedialite since my oldest was little. Hard to keep them drinking and hydrated when they throw up. But this really worked for us.

  11. Catherine S says:

I always used Pedialyte when my son had the flu. I even used it a few times for myself. I always tried to make sure my son washed his hands as soon as he got home.

  12. I am guessing this isnt available in the UK ss its something I would stock in for sure

  13. I like that it comes in freezer pops. That’s good for a sore throat too.

  14. We keep a “sick box” at home, so if we’re all sick at once, we already have all the supplies we need and don’t have to drag ourselves to the store! This would be a great thing to add!

  15. Elizabeth O. says:

This is a regular in the house whenever a child is sick. I love that it keeps the kids hydrated.

  16. this is such a great solution for dehydration. when im sick its really hard to eat and drink and keep hydrated. good thing products like this exists in the market!

  17. victoria says:

I really love this product. I’ve been using this for my kids when they have the flu or diarrhea

  18. We badly need that product. I have no doubt with that. This products looks great and effective.

  19. Pedialyte can be a real life saver especially when the flu season hits. Dehydration can be very dangerous especially in small children.

  20. I remember those days when my kids like to drink this and keep them hydrated. It works all the time.

  21. Staying Hydrated is so important and Pedialyte is so good for kids.

  22. My girls pediatrician actually recommends Gatorade over pedialite when they’re over a year old. Thankfully knock on wood my baby hasn’t gotten sick yet.

    • Gatorade is filled with more sugar which are high in sugar and low in sodium, which is an important electrolyte lost due to diarrhea and vomiting.

  23. Pedialite isn’t such a great product. I have actually had doctors tell me to drink it when I’m sick. They say it’s better even for adults then Gatorade when your sick.

    • I am sorry that is not true, Gatorade is filled high in sugar and low in sodium, which is an important electrolyte lost due to diarrhea and vomiting.

  24. I’m sure kids would love to drink this anytime!!
