Chocolate Covered Strawberries & Apples #ValentinesTreats

Yum

One of my favorite Valentine’s Day goodies is chocolate covered strawberries. They make an amazing combination! My 3 older kids recently took a cooking class and one of the things they made was chocolate covered strawberries and marshmallows. So I decided to make chocolate covered strawberries and apples as an early Valentine’s Day treat.

Ingredients:

1 Quart of Strawberries

1 Package of 12 oz. of chocolate chips

Apple Slices (approximately 2-3 apples)

Valentine Type Sprinkle Candies

First and foremost make sure all your fruit is cleaned.  Line a baking sheet with wax paper so that your goodies do not stick. Next pour the chocolate chips in a microwavable save bowl or container and heat for 30 seconds, then stir and heat for another 30 seconds.  Start dipping. I would dip two pieces of fruit at a time and then drizzle the sprinkles over the tops.  Place your chocolate coated treats on the wax paper. Once your are done dipping all the strawberries and apples in chocolate and sprinkling the candies over the tops then place the sheet in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes so that the chocolate firms.

Needless to say with 7 of us in our home these goodies went fast! Still on my list to make in the future chocolate covered orange slices! I think those would be a hit in my home too!   What yummy fruit treats have you made for Valentine’s Day?

Yum
