I try to avoid going to the doctor when I am sick. Since I am a stay at home homeschool mom, my 5 kids are with me during the day so taking all 5 kids with me to the doctors is not something that I like to do, it is very stressful. Especially if I am not feeling well.  It would be ideal if a there was a service where busy moms could see a doctor from the comfort of their own home.  What if I were to tell you there is a service!  No I am not joking, there really is!

Amwell makes it easy to talk to a U.S. trained and board certified physicians without having to leave your home or on the go with the new app. You can connect with physicians in your area on live video on your smartphone or from your computer.

Now aside from getting medical care Amwell physicians you can speak with in regards to diet, nutrition and psychology! I am 13 weeks pregnant so using the nutrition portion of Amwell is perfect for me. I want to make sure that I am healthy and eating the right foods for baby and I. This program gives me an opportunity to find a doctor and then ask questions all from the comfort of my home!

If you are not familiar with the Amwell App it’s so easy to use!   First sign up on your computer or mobile phone. The app is available on Apple IOS and/or the Google Play Store. When your account is created, the information is safely stored for future visits.

Choose a physician in your area. The listing of doctors will show the physicians background. This process makes it easier to chose which doctor works well for you. Finally once you find a doctor of your choice then it’s time to go live for your visit.

I found the whole process very easy and convenient. Even though this is my 6th baby I still often have questions, many of them I cannot remember the answers too from my previous pregnancies. So having a doctor to speak with 24/7 is much more simpler than going to an actual office with all 5 of my kids in tow!

This sounds like a great service. I would definitely use it if I couldn’t get out of the house to see a real doctor for some reason.

  2. I like that you can do this from home. Sometimes you just want to ask a doctor a question without having to make an appointment and drive into town.

  3. I hate dragging the kids to the doctor with me. It is such a pain!

  4. This looks like an easy way to find a healthcare professional. I like that it is more personal.

  5. Helene Cohen Bludman says:

That is an excellent idea for a service that is often needed. Great to know about it.

  6. It is cool to be able to get help when you need it and where you need it.

  7. What a great idea! I love this! I will have to try this for myself because I often am in need of this type of service but end up hauling myself to the doctor, even though I don’t have time. Thanks for sharing!

  8. As a single mom, getting to the doctor is so hard. This is awesome!

  9. A service like Amwell is exactly what we need in these busy times. What a great way to not have to wait days .. even weeks to see a Doctor

  10. This is such an awesome service. When it snows down here, EVERYTHING shuts down and it’s really dangerous driving on the roads. I’d be able to get medical consultations with Amwell without driving to a clinic.

  11. I haven’t used this particular service, but I have used ones similar. Its great to not have to leave the house when you’re not feeling well, especially with kids! Sounds awesome!

  12. WOW this is incredibly convenient and sounds like a service I would like to learn more about and use.

  13. This is a great service that I know so many people could really use. Some of my friends do not liking going to doctor because it is so time consuming, but with this they never have to leave home.

  14. I love Amwell. There are so many things you can do with an online doctor, it’s very convenient.

  15. I think this is a wonderful service. There is nothing worse than having to go out when someone is sick!

  16. This is just so great. The last time I tried to get my Little Man into the doctor for a stomach bug they didn’t have an appointment for two days. UGh… I am keeping this information for the next time we need it

  17. Telehealth is really going to take off over the next few years! This is fantastic, they’ve been doing this in EU for a while now. It really helps people who live remotely or are not able to travel to town to see their dr.

  18. There are so many things I’d like to ask a doctor, but don’t want to schedule an appointment or pay the co-pay for one question. This is a great solution!

  19. The convenience of this is so great. I saw one doctor that it would take 3 months to get in to see, and when you got there you’d sit in the waiting room for 2 hours. This is much more appealing.

  20. AmWell is really convenient! When I am sick the last thing I feel like doing is dragging myself to the doctor’s office.
