Our new homeschool year began this week! It will be a bit more challenging as I will be homeschooling 4 children! One of the exciting changes taking place in our homeschooling is that we will be doing a full day of homeschooling outside of our home with other homeschoolers. My kids will have many advantages by learning in this homeschool community. Our group is quite large as many of us have several children. There is an expense as to participating in this group so we look for ways to help cover the some of fee’s. One of those ways is Box Tops For Education.
Each box top is normally $0.10 each but right now at Walmart specially marked of General Mills products are offering 5 bonus box tops! Just think how much money your child’s school could earn if parents took advantage of the bonus Box Tops. It would definitely benefit their education!
My children help out by cutting out our Box Tops but we needed something to store them in until we have enough to turn into our homeschool group director who then turns them in to Box Tops so that we can use them for our group’s needs.
Box Tops Collection Container
I purchased a container at Walmart for my kids to drop in our contributions. The first thing I did was make a label for our jar (If you homeschool free free to print it and add it to your Box Tops container).
Materials:
Glass or plastic container with lid
Modge Podge
Paint brush
Above printed label
Once the label was made and cut out I glued it on the outside of the container. One it dried I painted a thin coat of Modge Podge over the label and the whole outside of the container. Then I allowed it to dry over night and the next day my kids were ready to add their Box Tops into their new collection container!

We don’t collect box tops only because there isn’t a program here in Canada for them.

We homeschool our youngest but still collect the box tops to take to the local school. They are so happy when we bring them in. It is such a shame that they need these in order to help teach the children – glad they are there.
i had always wanted to home school my children but I never did. I have 6 children. But I love the fun way you and your children collect box tops. That is a very important project for the school system. The box tops help alot.
We go thru stages that we are good about collecting, especially when my son was on student council.

Box tops are always going to be so useful & I have the habit of keeping them together in my store room so we could use it when needed. And this is such a simple yet useful stuff of creating a box container for your kids so they could store something on their own. Kids are going to love such ideas & get involved too.
I let my kids get involve with this. They are the ones collecting the Box Tops and they are enjoying it.
So great! Last year our daughters class won an ice cream party for collecting the most Box Tops for her elementary school. We buy a lot of bulk items and they always have a bunch of box tops.
