It is official summer has begun.  This means more outside activities. Here in Florida sunscreen is one of the best choices to having healthy skin. I am a label reader which means I am very particular hat products I purchase for my family.  Neutrogena Sun Products provides adults and babies with eczema or sensitive skin a safe sunscreen option that protects using naturally sourced sunscreen ingredients with blends of titanium dioxide and zinc oxide, which helps form a screen between the skin and the sun to provide protection from UVA and UVB.

One in five Americans will develop skin cancer and yet only 20% use SPF daily. A friend of mine passed away 3 years ago from what started as Melanoma Skin Cancer which eventually wound up in her blood stream and spread internally. Krista fought the battle for 7 months. It was a heartbreaking time for friends and family. She left behind four little children. Sometimes we think things cannot happen to us, but the truth is it can.  Ever since her passing I have been extra cautious with outdoor activity, making sure my family is protected from the sun.

The National Eczema Association recently awarded the Seal of Acceptance to five of Neutrogena’s Sun products which offers a safe skin sunscreen option for adults and babies with eczema or sensitive skin.  These products are a perfect fit for my family because my two daughters have sensitive skin. I have to be careful of any products I use on their skin or else they will break out in a rash. These five awarded products include:

~ Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Faces Ultra Gentle Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 45+

~ Neutrogena Pure & Free Baby Sunscreen Stick Broad Spectrum SPF 60

~ Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Sunscreen Lotion Broad Spectrum SPF 60+

~ Neutrogena Pure & Free Liquid Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 50

Since my friend passed away I have shared the importance of sun protection with my family. Sunburns in children increase the odds of developing skin cancer later in life so I stick to these tips:

Healthy Tips To Protect Your Family From The Sun

Use Neutrogena Sun Products. Sunscreen should always be worn when outside and experts say that a SPF should be at least 30 or higher.

Up to 80% of the sun’s rays can penetrate through clouds and fog, still apply sunscreen with these weather conditions.

Don’t skimp, dermatologists suggest that you need an ounce or so to cover your face and body. Most people use only half that amount!

Reapply sunscreen after being out in the sun for a few hours especially if activity is in water.

Wear protective clothing, hats and sunglasses. Sunglasses should be at 99% to 100% of UVA and UVB.

How are you protecting your family this summer from the sun? Neutrogena Sun Care products are available through Wal-mart both in-store and online. Follow Neutrogena on Facebook and/or Twitter for product information and offers.

  35. My dermatologist has even recommended Neutrogena products. I love there skincare line!
