Sometimes it’s nice to get away from everyday routine. My family recently did just that. We took a nice long weekend and headed up to stay on one of Florida’s beautiful beaches in St. Petersburg. Accommodations can be tricky for my big family but thankfully Plaza Beach Resorts had everything and then some that made my family feel comfortable.
Plaza Beach Hotel has 3 amazing properties all in a stone’s throw away from each other. The property we stayed at was the Bay Palms Waterfront Resort and Hotel which is directly across from the ocean. The property was beautiful! Our room had everything from a fully equipped kitchen, eating area, bathroom, bedroom with two queen size beds, living room and a balcony! It definitely had enough space for our family of 7.
My husband, baby and I had our own space in the bedroom. When it was time to unwind before bed my husband and I did not have to watch what the kids wanted to watch on t.v. because we had our own television in our room! The living room had two sleeper sofas which the kids pared up and slept.
I was amazed how you really did not need much for your stay. Bay Palms Waterfront Resort and Hotel had a fully equipped kitchen which included a stove, refrigerator and dishes! I admit we do not eat out very often because of the expense and with 5 kids it can be a hassle so with the grocery store down the street you can pick up ingredients and cook a full dinner right in your room which I find super convenient!
Our particular resort had it’s own pool, grill, and marina area where you could fish or just enjoy the view. If you are there at the right time you may even spot manatee! Everything is in arms reach of your room. Plus if you have wet beach/pool towels and swim suits laundry facilities is on property.
When my family wanted to go to the beach it was directly across the street. Since we stayed at one of the sister properties we had access to the beach and all the amenities at Plaza Beach Resorts. This resort had a pool, shuffleboard, outside checkers, grill area direct beach access with hammocks and a play area of little ones.

This looks like the perfect place to get away for a week end or even a whole week. I know I would love to be able to fall out of my room and onto the beach, And-even as a single I would prefer being able to cook for myself–at least some of the time.

Having a kitchen inside a hotel room is such a great way to save some money while on vacation, especially if you have a larger family. I love that these rooms featured tile floors!

Yes, vacations are such a nice time to have a change of pace… as a family. Love that it had a kitchen. We have food restrictions so making our own meals is a must.
