My kids love to read or to be read to. As a homeschool mom when I look for books for my children I have certain criteria that I am looking for such as: is it educational? Does it teach life skills?  I was recently introduced to Hands-on-Prints books. This series of books offer a wide spectrum of learning materials with stories and poems that are not only informative, encourage mindfulness, but also inspire the best in children all while learning.  This series of books all written by Christinia Cheung who is a seasoned educator and has a love of books.

I had opened the Around the World A to Z book and put it in front of my preschooler. He sat and took his finger and traced the raised textured sandpaper cursive letters on each page. He wanted to trace each letter. On the opposite page of each letter is an education fact from around the world that starts with that letter.

Plus my preschooler and toddler really enjoy when I read them Do I Have To? What if I Don’t Want To…. I think it was completely relatable for them. How many times as parents do we tell our children no and they have meltdowns? I know mine have.  This book shows an effective and gentle method how to speak to children while these innocents happen. There are portions of the book that have mini books that are great for little hands to flip through. Plus there is a how to listen mini book enclosed or parents.

A Persistent Vine is an amazing colorful book that contains a botanical tales series about plant life in our evolving ecosystem. This book is filled with historical, cultural and geographical landscapes.  My daughter loves flowers and plants so she immediately took a liking to this book and while we looked at the book she was learning about the world around her.
