Toilet Paper Tube Owl (Kids Craft) With Linky

When my two older boys were younger I participated in weekly activity (reading a book to them and doing a craft to go with the story I read) with them and shared with other bloggers who did the same.  Fast forwarding and a few kids later who I did not do this with (yeah I know I am sure I will not get the mother of the year award). I decided to pick back up and do this with my preschooler. For the next few weeks we will be reading books about animals and doing a craft that coincides with the book.

This wee we did Fantastic Forest  by Tony Mitton. This book is not just educational but it is interactive. My son loved it.  The craft we did with it was an owl which is a forest animal.

Toilet Paper Tube Owl

Materials:

Toilet paper tube

Paint

2 Googly eyes

Cardstock (for the wings and beak)

Glue

I had my son paint the toilet paper tube 1st. Then once it was dried I folded the top down leaving each sides of the top sticking up so it looks like the owl’s ears. Then next my son glued the googly eyes on. While he did this I cut out a triangle in orange card stock for the beak and then with brown card stock I freehand a pair of wings. Then he glued everything on and allowed to dry.
