I love reading to my kids even my older kids. Especially character building books.  It is a wonderful way to learn how to be Godly and to grow closer to The Lord.  Pride is a constant problem and it’s something we have to keep ourselves in check on. Theo Presents offers a wonderful selection of books, DVD’s and other great materials that teach children God’s word and how they ought to live in light of it.

Theo’s Tale of the Proud Chicken is a humorous retelling of The Parable of the Prodigal Son. In a tale that both children and adults will enjoy, Chadwick the rooster learns that pride goes before a fall.  He also learns that no matter how far we may drift from God, the love of our heavenly Father will always embrace and restore the repentant sinner.

Pride is something that many of do not even realize that they are doing on a daily basis.  This book gives a wonderful illustration just what being proud is, even more so on a child’s level. Chawick is so prideful he thinks he is better than everyone else not even realizing how badly his behavior is. Not to mention how he is hurting other’s along the way. With his selfish ambitions he thinks he will find that the grass is not greener on the other side so he comes back home where he finds his friends lovingly welcoming him back just like God welcomes back the repenting sinner home with open arms. Luke 15:11-32
