As a mom, homeschooler, Sunday school teacher, church leader and co-op teacher I always reference back to the Scriptures with my children and other children I teach. At times younger children tend to get antsy reading from the Bible and read directly from it that is why I find Our Daily Bread For Kids:  365 Meaningful Moments With God by Crystal Bowman and Teri McKinley to be such an amazing resource to draw children to The Lord.

Book Synopsis:

Teaching children without being too preachy or boring can sometimes be tough though. With Our Daily Bread for Kids, parents and grandparents can introduce their children and grandchildren to Scripture and how to apply it in their lives. Each devotion is short and engaging, offering easy-to-remember Bible verses and exciting facts for them to take out into the world.

This whimsical 12 month devotional can be done with children at home or to use as a resource in Sunday school. Each day has an easy to understand devotion backed up with Scripture. At the bottom of each page is referenced Bible verses for further reading along with questions for children to answer which I always love because it gives me a chance to see if they were listening to the read. Then there is a fun fact which children love. For example: Did you know that water covers most of the earth? Only about one-forth of the earth is dry land.

What child does like like music? Our Daily Bread for Kids: Sunday School Songs is an additional resource to use with Our Daily Bread For Kids devotional. This two CD set of favorite Sunday school songs along offers new tunes that will have kids singing, clapping, and praising.  This collection of songs are a fast and energetic collection of music that  is sung by other children which is attractive for children.  Little listeners will learn biblical concepts while enjoying upbeat music and singing catchy lyrics.  The lyrics are many of the Sunday school songs children know but a flair is added to it such as singing in English and Spanish and other fun twists!

Many of the lyrics are ones children may already know which is perfect for Sunday school, home or car rides!

  13. I think these sound great for teaching. We’ve discovered a cool series of Bible stories for kids on YouTube too, and my son loves to watch those with me. I bet he’d like ‘Our Daily Bread’ too.

  14. I didn’t know they made devotionals for kids. I will have to look into it.

  15. I used to love these when I was little. I know my son would really appreciate something like this. I will have to get it for him.

  16. I didn’t know they did kid’s devotionals! I will definitely check this out. We do a family devotional after dinner, but sometimes the concepts are a little too much for a 6 year old. Thanks for sharing 🙂

  17. What a great devotional series. I know I can really tell a difference in the growth of our childrens character when we spend time doing devotionals together.

  18. I think that’s really cool. Adults do devotions all the time. Why not kids, too? Love it.

  19. Adding music to anything really gets my kids’ attention. Love the illustrations too!

  20. We go to CCD on Tuesdays, but this would be cute to have at home to teach them even more about the Bible.

  21. I’ll have to pick these up. My kids are 3 and 6 and already know their prayers but I’d love to build on that.

  26. I use to get these types of books for my kids when they were little and now I bet them for my grandchildren… I think it’s good for them to learn at church, but you have to keep the story going at home too. Catch my drift?

  27. This is a win all the way around – reading to our children, teaching in an interesting way and keeping their interest even as we are working with them on these moments with God.

  32. Becca Wilson says:

This would even be good for someone that has not been to church in a long time such as myself. I was never forced to go to church and so I dont really have all the background knowledge of those that did. Thanks for sharing!

  33. You remind me of my Mom. She’s very active in church ( she’s always been ever since she was a kid ). I think it’s also this same reason that she started teaching us and immersing my brother and I to the scriptures, devotions, and to apostolate work at a very young age. Now that I’m older, I appreciate it and see its value. I’m all for Moments With God and Sunday School Songs. Music as most elders in church say is a very powerful form of prayer.

  34. I think Isa and Davey would like this. Heading to check it out.

  35. Love the devotional book. Kiddo has a young readers bible and she has outgrown it. I’ve been looking for something more age appropriate, but haven’t had much like. She seems to be at that inbetween stage.

  36. This looks like a great series! Perfect for when Lydia gets a little older!

  37. These looks like such great books for kids! I really love the cds too! These would make great gifts too!
