My kids enjoy playing games on my tablet.  They enjoy playing games but I opt for more educational type apps.  I recently added a new app to my iPad for my three year old called Joy Sprouts

Joy Sprouts was created by educational professionals, with award winning games and activities develop a range of important skills to help children’s total development. This app provides personalized reports that allow you to follow your child’s progress across key areas of development which I think is a fantastic idea so that I know what areas to work with my son on.

I like that this app is so versatile. It is a combo app where children can not only have fun but they will learn many different things such as cognition and knowledge of math, science, social studies, language and literacy as well as social as well as emotional development. Along with physical development and health.

Joy Sprouts is broken down into a few different games such as That’s My Job. Children can practice decision making by choosing the careers, tools and locations to join in the fun. They can also distinct costumes and objects used by each profession.  While My Dad also teaches children about the daily life of a firefighter.

In Where is Pooky? help Garfield find Pooky child uses their logical mind to solve fun and silly puzzles with familiar themes.  Children will learn colors, shapes, patterns and animals.

Music Jam ABC  children play the conductor playing nursery rhymes. Learning 6 instrumental categories: Percussion, String, Brass, Woodwind, Plucked, Wind, Keyboard, and Bowed-String along with 5 musical styles: Modern Orchestra, Folk, Jazz, Hawaiian, Chinese accompanied with 26 individual instruments, including B: Banjo, F: Flute, I: Ipu, M: Marimba, U: Ukelele and X: Xylophone among others!

Plus Joy Sprouts also offers Am I Fit? for ages 3, 4 and 5 year old’s. Children take part in the Garfield comics with photo-taking scenes all while practicing gross motor exercises such as dancing, walking, running, swimming skills, balancing, and throwing / catching / rolling / kicking balls.

I love that my son sits and plays this app while I homeschool my older children. As he plays he is learning so many things that prepare him for the future. When he is done I can glance at his progress. I have given him learning game apps in the past to play and he showed very little interest in them but with Joy Sprouts he does not want to stop playing!

Traveling this holiday season? Joy Sprouts is the perfect down load which will keep kids entertained for hours all while learning! Available for download iTunes now on iPad for IOS 7.0 or later for FREE!
