My kids and I enjoy doing crafts throughout the year especially during the holidays. Here are some Thanksgiving crafts I have done with my kids over the years.

Thanksgiving Crafts For Kids

Toilet Paper Tube Turkey’s

Supplies
Toilet paper holder
googly eyes
construction paper (orange)
feathers
glue
brown marker

I had my kids color their tubes with their brown markers, them they glued their feet and beaks on which I just quickly made out of construction paper, had them glue feathers on the backside of the turkey, then they glued their googly eyes on.

Hand print Turkey’s

Supplies:
Card Stock
Clothes Pins
Crayons, Scissors, Pencil
Googly eyes

I traced my older 4 children’s hands, cut them out and had them color them – their color choice then they painted their clothes pins.  Then they glued the googly eyes on, out of scrap paper I made the wattles and we glued them on. I made free hand the pilgrim hats for my boys and I took thin ribbon and we glued a hairbow on my daughter’s turkey. Then when the clothes pins dried we opened them up and clipped on their “legs”.

Coffee Filter Turkey

Supplies:

coffee filter

template washable

markers, glue

scissors crayons

I used the turkey head and feet from the template on Making Learning Fun.    I printed off the template and had my kids color the turkey head and legs with crayons and then gave them the coffee filter which they colored with WASHABLE MARKERS (washable markers will be the only markers that will work) and then outside I gave them a spray bottle. They sprayed the coffee filter and then kept it outside so that it could dry. Once dried we glued it all together. Looks almost like a tie dye turkey!

Paper Plate Pilgrims

Supplies:

Paper Plates

Markers Glue (not a glue stick)

Scissors

Construction Paper or Cardstock

I started off my cutting out the bow at the bottom of the plate, cutting slits and then working my way around the plate for the rest of the head. Then I had my kids design their own faces  on their Pilgrims.  For girls: I used cardstock, cut them into rectangles ad then cut slits to look like strands of hair then glued underneath the bonnet.  For boys: I used black construction paper and drew out a hat and then yellow construction paper to cut out the buckle and glued to the top of the Pilgrim’s head.
