I find it so incredible that the first three years of life are a period of such rapid growth in all areas of a baby’s development. Did you know that a newborn’s brain is about 25 percent of its approximate adult weight and by age 3, the brain has grown dramatically by producing billions of cells and hundreds of trillions of connections, or synapses, between these cells. Pretty amazing right?

This is why DHA is so beneficial to the first three years of children’s life. What is DHA? It is the omega-3 fatty acid that is a building block of a baby/toddler’s brain.  Twenty years of studies show that DHA has been a found to be a way to support early brain development. Since rapid brain growth continues until the age of 3, DHA can be found in toddler drinks such as  Enfagrow Toddler Next Step (tailored for 1-3 years old) and  Enfagrow Toddler Transitions (tailored for 9 to 18 months)  which are both designed to provide key nutrients for brain growth.

My baby is now 15 months and yet she still nurses I have noticed a big drop in my breastmilk supply because she is nursing less. So this is where Enfagrow Toddler Transitions comes in.

Not only does it have DHA which will help her reach her milestones but it has 30 total nutrients for growth such as calcium and vitamin D for growth as well as, vitamins C & E to help support her developing immune system. Although my baby’s brain development is important I get concerned about her immune system. She has 4 older siblings so when they get sick she most likely gets sick as well. I particularly like the nutrients this formula offers.

For my 3 year old son who is constantly learning new things and the world around him he needs nutrients for healthy brain development just like his baby sister. Enfamil has come out with a product that suits his needs for his age; Enfagrow Toddler Next Step.   My son is such a fussy eater too so this formula is a great way for him to get the nutrients that he is not getting  from healthy foods.  The good thing about it is that he doesn’t even realize what he’s drinking because he just likes it!
