Everglades Holiday Park

I am a native Floridian. Never living anywhere  other than Florida. There is so much to see and to do.  My new favorite place to go is The Everglades Holiday Park.  There is no other place like.  The views are stunning and tranquil, the wildlife is amazing and the experience is spectacular!

Our family got to go on an airboat ride in the Florida Everglades yes all seven of us including the baby who enjoyed it too!  We boarded an airboat.   These unique watercrafts have a covered passenger compartment which means that you can enjoy the airboat rides in any weather. Plus, you won’t get sunburned!  Not only will you not get sunburned but Everglades Holiday Park put’s safety first by putting little ones in life vests and making sure that everyone is in the boat securely.

Once everyone was in it was time to start our hour long adventure!   Our highly-trained tour guides pilot took our watercraft over the sawgrass out into remote sections of the Everglades, all while explaining to you what we were seeing. Once we got moving I was  in awe of the views.

I was amazed how they have special places they took us which are known to be frequented by the gators. Once there, the engines are cut so as not to disturb the animals. Then the alligators and other wildlife begin to appear.  Sure we have seen alligators  before at the zoo and aquarium but this was much different, we were close to them in their surroundings!  We must have seen five in all and they didn’t just come up for air and then hide under the waters they were visible swimming around on the tops of the water!

The guide pilot knew just were to take us.  I saw birds that I have never seen before such as the beautifully colored Common Moorhen Bird.  Our guide had a small bag of popcorn which he threw near the birds so that they would come close to our airboat for all to see. The Common Moorhen Bird walked on the lilypads eating the popcorn!

Along the tour we saw other wildlife such as herons,  fish and vultures.

Not only was the wildlife amazing but the greenery, trees and plants were like none I have ever seen in my 40 years.

I did not want to get off the airboat, I wanted to stay and keep enjoying the ride and the views but it was time to get back on dry land.  On land we watched Ashley from Animal Planets Gator Boys Alligator Wrestling Show.  Ashley did some pretty amazing moves!  Did you know that Everglades Holiday Park is where they do the actual filing of the Gator Boys show?

After this amazing alligator show we enjoyed the rest of the Holiday Everglades Park grounds where we are enjoyed other wildlife.

Our family saw things that we have never seen before, experiences we have never had before.  It was a time our family will never forget! If you are going to South Florida in the future I highly recommend that you add Everglades Holiday Park on your list of places to go! You will not be disappointed!
