4th of July Popsicle Stick Stars (Learn & Link With Linky)

I cannot believe 4th of July is next Friday! Time flies! My kids and I enjoy this holiday, not to just celebrate what it stands for but because my husband is off work and we spend the day as a family.  This week we made star decorations out of popsicle sticks.

4th of july popsicle stars u

Materials:

5 popsicle sticks

Red, white and blue tempera paint

Color coordinating string

Paint brushes

Paper plates

Elmer’s glue

I had my 4 older children do this craft. I gave them each 5 plain popsicle sticks each on a paper plate. I put out red, white and blue tempera paint each having their own paintbrush for each color.  Each of them painted their popsicle sticks the three colors and once they dried we used clear glue to glue the popsicle sticks together forming a star.  Then used red metallic string and tied it through the top portion of the stars. Once we were done we hung them up in our living room on the curtains.
