As my children are getting older I shared with them the importance of caring for our planet.  In doing so they are very much involved in recycling  – separating and sorting our items weekly.  Aside from helping hands on I like to use educational resources to ensure the importance and comprehension plus make it fun for them too! One of resources is The Jimmy Gone Green Starter Kit .

Jimmy’s Gone Green Starter Kit which includes:

~ The award-winning picture book “Jimmy’s Gone Green How to Take Care of the Earth and Keep the Environment Clean (A Ten-Step Guide for Kids)

~ 1 Jimmy’s Green Challenge Poster

~ 4 Jimmy’s Green Challenge Wristbands

~ 1 Jimmy’s Gone Green refrigerator magnet

Jimmy’s Gone Green is a book about the earth’s resources (air, water, energy, tree’s, etc. ) and what we can do to care for our planet with things such as recycle, not to pollute and  conserve energy. With 10 simple steps on how we can keep our planet:

Turning off the water while brushing our teeth, line drying our clothing, turn off lights when not using them, use natural light and take shorter showers. I do not want to give all the resourceful tips away because I don’t want you to ruin it for you.  I like that it’s not just a book, it’s a book with did you know  points for example: If you turn off the water when you brush your teeth, you’ll save 8 gallons of water each day. I find these tid bits to be valuable information, many I did not know of myself!

Plus aside from the book the kit has other great ways to remind children the importance of caring for our planet.  The kit contains wristbands for children to wear to remind them of what they can do to help at home or on the go, a magnet for the refrigerator and a poster to hang up anywhere. These are great reminders for not just children but for adults as well.

The Jimmy’s Gone Green Challenge Starter Kit is available on Amazon for $19.99.

How about you, how do have you and your family taken the Jimmy’s Gone Green Challenge? If so how?
