Super Soap Saver — Saving Money On Hand Soap With Only A Rubber-band!

I am big on hand washing and my kids know it. My little ones use way too much soap, pumping away until I a whole bottle of liquid soap is gone in a week!  Plus I find a bunch of liquid soap all over the sink and the faucet that was wasted!  I feel like I am constantly telling them not so much soap.  I learned a little trick to resolve this problem.  Take a rubber band and wrap it around the top of the pump portion of the soap bottle. When you pump down on the hand pump the soap still comes out but less of it. Enough soap will come out to wash hands effectively but none will be wasted. Now to implement a one pump down rule!

I used a number 16 rubber-band but I am sure any size with do.  I tried it on my foam hand dispensers, it really doesn’t work so well. Sure doesn’t cost that much money but it adds up and I am big on not wasting. How do you save money on soap?
