Mickey Mouse Party Favor Lollipop Wrappers #Disneyside

I am gearing up for my Disney Side party tomorrow and with that has come quite a bit of preparation. Crafts, treats and games!  Here is the 1st of a few homemade Disney goodies I will be posting this week.

I purchased lollipops (Valentine’s Day ones) that were 50% off (shhh – don’t tell my guests).  Then with supplies I already had I turned a typical lollipop into a Mickey Mouse lollipop! This was super easy and took about 20 minutes to make 15 lollipop wrappers.

Materials Needed:

First I cut the tissue paper into 5″ X 6″ squares then I placed it over the lollipop and twisted it over the existing lollipop wrapper and kept twisting over the lollipop stick. To keep it closed I used a very little of school glue and with my fingers kept twisting the tissue paper so that the tissue paper adhered to the lollipop stick. While that portion of the wrapper dried I took a bottle cap (top to a soda or water bottle) and I traced the circles on the cardstock (these will me the Mickey Mouse ears.) Finally I took 2 circles per lollipop and gently folded over a small portion under and added glue to the fold bottom down and glued it to the top of the “Mickey Mouse” head.

You could make any color wrappers you want, even using the traditional black Mickey Mouse ears but I used what I already had without spending very much money!  Stay tuned for more thrifty Disney / Mickey Mouse party fun this week!
