My family recently had the opportunity to go to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! in Orlando, Florida.  Our family had an amazing time!  We were not expecting to see so many educational and yet unique items!

Ripley’s Believe It Or Not! is a 10,000 square foot “Odditorium” that looks like it’s falling into a Florida sinkhole! Housing hundreds of fascinating, outrageous and interactive exhibits which will entertain the entire family. You can explore an unbelievable variety of artifacts and displays in 16 unique galleries that pay tribute to the odd and strange. Marvel at their collection of weird and unusual relics and rare treasures. Self-guided, self-paced tour allows guests to fully enjoy Orlando’s most bizarre attraction.

ripleys collageSome our favorites were the chicken with its head cut off that lived for 18 months.  Or the Mona Lisa picture made entirely out of toasted bread!  Then there were other several odd animals with either two heads or five legs.   Our children enjoyed the several hands on exhibit: puzzles, brain teasers and interactive activities. Each gallery contained a wide variety of different themes: smallest objects, music, art, the optical illusion room, wax figures, walk through a spinning tunnel and my boys favorite was the shooting gallery.

I had a favorite too, one of them was The Last Supper which was completely made out laundry lint!  I am amazed at the techniques the artist did to make this, it is completely mouth dropping! I stood there staring at it for quite sometime because I could not believe it was made from dryer lint, believe it or not!

The homeschool mom in me loved seeing the piece of the Berlin Wall. My children have learned about in our homeschool studies so for them to get to see it up close and have the opportunity to touch it was a true experience that they will never forget.
