Learning With Jingle Bells — Learn & Link With Linky

I was going through some craft goodies the other day in my closet and found a bunch of different size jingle bells. Instead of putting them back in the box I decided to use them as a learning tool for my three year old son.

Materials:

Different size jingle bells

Spoons or tongs

Tray with holes (the tray I used is a tray a set of the bells came in)

Large bowl with dividers

Pipe cleaners

Containers with tops

Other containers

There are so many things you can do:

Transfer the bells into different containers

Separate the bells by size

Separate by sound

Separate by color

Match the bells

Put out flash cards and have the child match the amount of bells to the number

Make musical instruments with the bells

Toothpicks

Play-Doh

Finally I molded Play-doh in a line and stuck toothpicks in it and he balanced the bells on the toothpicks.

I thought the jingle bells would be a fun way to learn and yet play – sure enough he liked it!
