4th of July / Patriotic Kids Craft

With 4th of July approaching I wanted to do something fun with my kids. I read them America is…… and we did a fun craft to go along with it.

What a beautiful and touching book, I actually cried reading it to them.

America Is...

Afterwards I took star, United States, flag cookie cutters and a top to the laundry detergent that had a spiral pattern and had them dip them in red and blue tempera paint and press the Patriotic cookie cutters on cardstock.

See the spiral pattern I thought it would look like fireworks once they pressed in paint and stamped on the paper. I have been holding a few of these laundry tops for months trying to figure out what we would use them for because of the cool pattern.

My 3 year old daughter went to town a little bit more than my boys did with this craft but she loves arts and crafts!

This is such a fun and yet easy craft to do with kids at this time of the year!  What fun 4th of July crafts do you and your kids do this time of the year to celebrate the up and coming 4th of July?
